Roseberry Chapter of Installed Principals No. 8571.
This Chapter is attached to the Roseberry Lodge of Installed Masters No.
8571 – which meets at the Masonic Hall, Redcar.
The name Roseberry was chosen after Roseberry Topping, which dominates over
the local area.
According to Ordinance Survey the height of Roseberry Topping is 1,057 feet
above sea level, but perhaps due to the recent landslip, the present elevation
may be not more than 1,050 feet. It avoids magnificent views spread out both
North and West.
The Consecration of the Chapter was carried out at the Masonic Hall, Roman
Road, Middlesbrough on January 23rd 1995.
The Consecrating Officer was ME Grand Superintendent, E Comp.John Malcolm
Raylor, (who was elected an Honorary Member of the Chapter) assisted by E Comp.
Revd. Edwin Thomas Chapman, Second Provincial Grand Principal – as H, and E
Comp. Alan Brundall, Third Provincial Grand Principal – as J.
The Provincial DC, E Comp.Keith Smithson Coulson was in attendance; as was
the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E Comp. Donald Davinson.
The Consecration was attended by a “full house” of Companions, witnessing E
Comp. Alan Brundall’s Oration to the Founders.
As well as the Roseberry Chapter of IP, The Masonic Province of Yorkshire
North and East Ridings have several IP’s Chapters covering the Province:
