Priory Chapter was founded in 1906. The Chapter, or the Holy Royal Arch of Jerusalem, is linked to Craft Masonry and is the only other order officially recognized by Grand Lodge. The Priory Chapter No 561 is linked to the Zetland Lodge No 561. Its members are known as Companions and are all Master Masons seeking to further their Masonic knowledge.

Priory Chapter received its Charter on 1st August 1906 and was consecrated on September 19th 1906. so it is over 100years old.

In 1906 there were only 17 Chapters in the Province of Yorkshire, North and East Ridings.

Priory Chapter meets in the Masonic Hall, Guisborough on the 4th Wednesday in January, March, May and September at 7pm. The Installation Convocation takes place on the 4th Wednesday in November at 6.30pm. To date, Priory Chapter is one of the largest in membership in the Province. The Annual Subscription is £35 (2010).
